KANAK's Exhibition at the Helene Bailly Contemporain Gallery
Hélène Bailly Gallery presents pictures from the photographer's most recent series, KANAK. For this new personal work, Denis Rouvre was invited in residency by the "Centre Culturel Tjibaou" in Nouméa in May 2013. He spent three weeks among some of the kanak tribes of New-Caledonia North Province. This series was first presented at the "Centre Culturel Tjibaou" and in Vichy for the first edition of "Portrait(s) festival". These portraits and group portraits brilliantly enlighten these "landscape men and women ".
This exhibition takes place during the third edition of "Photo Saint-Germain des Prés Festival". The festival theme this year is "Faces and bodies".
