GROUND ZERO
It all start from an hypothesis. A maybe. Whatever. The possibility of a disaster, from a cataclysmic outcome to the deluge of bad omens which constantly watering the media landscape. And then chaos. The vertical companies erected ever higher collapse. With them the hierarchies of the power, the distribution of wealth, religious organizations, technological progress, the means of communication. Until the family unit. Babel ruined, remains the desire to survive for the survivors.
This project started in the early days of the post (after). It raises the question of ‘what’ re-creates when the structure of the world disappears as we know it. When the castle collapses. It proposes a redistribution of the cards from the ruins, in the raw material of despoiled decors . A reinvention of human roles and relationships, codes and social models when the norm that consecrated them and the mechanisms that spread them shattered.
Forced to start from Zero, the place itself where the original unexpected seized them, men and women form new tribes. A collective from circumstances, built on the need to live together and adapt to each other. And a new start, new a esthetical. Because can spring from ashes still warm, the spark of the future, it is clothed with the used tinsel of the old world that they are reborn in that of tomorrow. As they present themselves , enigmatic assembly of rags and old fashioned jewellery , strong and dignified yet.
To respond to this personal vision of "beyond the end of history", to feed the fictional writing of quiet real initiative of sharing and second life ( chance), Ground Zero appeals to Emmaus France*. the volunteers and employees in reintegration of this movement – which relies on the gift and generosity - to incarnate those who have taken from the vestiges what to cover themselves and start again.
So adorned, and still reduced again to a form of darkness matrix in which bodies are shaped, they compose portraits of groups from which, insidiously, the personal story and the cultural baggage engraved in the memory of each emerge. They tell a story, the possibility of a story, that everyone can create according to their own imagination. To catch a glimpse of the new day of a new world , the misty lines of another road.
